We all want to have those movie star teeth. However, it is hard for many of us to have that natural perfect smile. Luckily, innovations in general dentistry have brought about veneers. In general veneers are pieces of porcelain that is made to replicate the look of a tooth. It is common for a patient to wonder what porcelain will feel like in their mouth. However, these veneers are also made to feel exactly like an actual tooth would. In this post, you will learn four common dental problems easily corrected with veneers.

  • Discolored Teeth: There are many things that can cause teeth to become discolored. Cigarette smokers are usually at the highest risk of their teeth becoming discolored. However, beverages including soda and coffee can stain teeth as time goes on. In some situations, topical whitening treatments may be enough to bring teeth back to a whiter color. If nothing can be done with standard procedures, veneers may be the best option for a patient.
  • Misaligned Teeth: As you age, teeth that were slightly out of place can continue to move in your mouth. It may seem strange but teeth can shift, often without any signs of warning. In some cases, the shifts are so small that we do not notice when they happen. If your teeth are misaligned you may think that braces are your only solution. Veneers are used to help correct misaligned teeth. Many general dentistry facilities can file a tooth down to ensure the veneer will be aligned properly.
  • Gaps in Teeth: One common procedure for those in cosmetic dentistry is closing a gap between teeth. There is nothing wrong with having a gap in your teeth. Some people prefer to have it closed while other may want it left alone. Many patients that put off gap adjustments are shocked at how quickly their gap is removed. It will only take about one to two weeks for a general dentistry facility to get veneers after sending away the molds.
  • Chipped Teeth: A chip in a tooth could be small but for the patient, it could be all they see. A veneer can easily be capped over an existing tooth. In turn, the chipped tooth is covered up with a natural looking porcelain. A veneer usually costs between $925-2,500 for one tooth. However, the investment of having a veneer lasts for around 10-15 years.
  • In closing, there are many ailments that veneers can help you with. Teeth can change color from smoking, coffee, and lack of care. A veneer is made of porcelain and will be matched to the rest of your teeth. Many situations can cause teeth to become misaligned which veneers can easily correct. Gapped teeth, for those that want them fixed, can easily be corrected with veneers. A veneer can be placed over a previously chipped tooth, quickly fixing this problem. More information like this.
