Braces are important to correcting crooked teeth and bite alignment. They increase the odds of a person having healthy teeth for the whole of their lives. However, they can be tricky to clean. This video explains some tips for any braces cleaners out there.
You will need toothbrush, floss, threaders, proxabrush, wax, a food list, and a hygiene guide. This will allow you to start off on the right foot and quickly get into a rhythm so you can stop using the guide and food list.
Brush your teeth as you normally would, using small circular motions. Make sure to get all sides of the teeth and braces. Brush the top, bottom, and front of the braces for at least 30 seconds each. Spend at least two minutes for proper cleaning.
You want to make sure you brush with enough pressure to get the tips of the bristles underneath the wiring. Gently brush your gum line, too, to make sure you have healthy gums throughout your braces treatment. You don’t need to put too much pressure on them!
Flossing is trickier and requires the floss to be worked around the braces wiring. To see how a pro does it, check out the video in the link above.
