For others, it can be a source of dread, especially if they’re prone to bad dental habits. However you might feel about the dentist, dentistry is considered one America’s most trustworthy professions, so visiting a dentist shouldn’t be something to fear.
For kids and adults alike, trips to the dentist are important. For kids, trips to the dentist, especially a pediatric dentist, can help:
- Establish a level of comfort in visiting the dentist.
- Teach a child about the importance of good dental hygiene. As it stands, the CDC estimates that 83% of children aged 2-17 visited a dentist in 2014. What’s more, worldwide between 60 and 90% of children have dental cavities.

First, figure out what you need. Are you looking for a basic cleaning and exam? Do you suspect you have some cavities that need looking into (so to speak)? Do you need a pediatric dentist for your child? Do you need to find a cosmetic dentist before that big Hollywood audition next month?
Luckily, the answer to almost all of the above question can be broken down into two simple words: Dentist reviews.
You’ve probably heard the lecture a million times: the age-old adage of “brush and floss your teeth every day” from the dentist. While it might sound trivial, brushing and flossing your teeth is one of the best ways to make sure your teeth stay in top condition in between checkups at a dentist office. If you think you don’t have to maintain dental hygiene, think again.

1. Only 22% of Americans claim to floss each day. Flossing is the best way to remove plaque buildup and other debris in between teeth and greatly decreases the risk of gum disease. Even just flossing two to three times a week is better than not flossing at all.
